Black Shadows In An Unknown Night

I sit at my computer and look out at the still night. The moon casts pale rays through the leafless trees, and the stars twinkle, laughing. I look through the panes of glass and watch the shadows of the trees dance across the ground, then dissapear into darkness. I glance back at my computer and the light shocks my eyes. I place my hands over the keys, wondering. I drum my fingers on the keys and hear the familar thump thump, a sound I often hear when my mind is blank. I glance back outside, though the night is warm, a chill runs through my body as I peer into the darkness. I again glance back at my computer, mind racing. I place my fingers once more on the keyboard, and begin. Not knowing what to write, I think of one idea, and then another. They drift through my mind like endless waves, weaving in and out of the dark and light places of my thoughts. I begin typing and as I hear the clack clack of the keys, my inspiration comes. Faster and faster I write, my mind racing ahead of my fingers. Finally, it is done. As I glance outside again, I feel my thoughts sway, like black shadows in an unknown night.
